The Junior Board was formed in order to reach a young professional population of community members to engage them in the board development process, build future leaders and broader the support to the mission of iskali.

Mireya is a commercial banking analyst at Wintrust Financial Corporation. She is a proud graduate of Dominican University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with a minor in political science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Throughout her time at Dominican she was involved in the University's ministry center, where she led a weekly encounter community group. Mireya spent a semester abroad in Salamanca, Spain where she attended University of Salamanca. She was also a part of a summer program in China, as a follow up to a semester long course that credited her political science minor. Mireya became involved in Iskali in 2015 after she lived her initiation retreat; she would later become part of the team that started the community at Sacred Heart Parish in Melrose Park. Jose Omar was born in Durango, Mexico and migrated to the United States at the age of seven. I currently work for the Chicago Public Schools as a Senior Compliance Manager for the Local School Councils. My experience includes working for the Illinois Coalition for Immigrants and Refugee Rights and Catholic Charities of Chicago. I am passionate about mentorship, leadership development and organizational communication. I like to watch sports, read autobiographies and spent time with my family. I currently live in the northwest side of Chicago and attend St. John Berchmans Parish. |
